Photos from summer workshop in Venezia, Italy
Many times we have visited a public building in our town and thought that it was a great place to study, to have a private studio for ourselves. This desire of an ideal study place is the interest that focused our attention during this workshop.
Where to get it? Finding a fragment of public space that was forgotten, a corner inside a wider structure, some space that we could steal within a public building without interfering in its everyday use…
The exercise is an attempt to slip inside a big structure and steal some space for private study. The programme of the room is based on the space depicted in the picture of Saint Jerome, by Antonello da Mesina.
