(1) DREAM OR WISH
On a Monday, sick of hearing people telling me all week, “Look at the pot”, I’ll take advantage of the fact that the Born is closed to leave my showroom in the Barcelona 1700 exhibition, I will leave my cracked mates and I will go to the Til·lers Walk of the Ciutadella Park.

Once there I will visit all the sculptures and monuments, the statue of General Prim, the Lady of the Umbrellas, the Grief of Clarà, the monument to Walt Disney, the Mamut, the Glorieta, the Monumental Waterfall… And I will feel so happy, to be accompanied, and be part of this family of Monuments in Barcelona.

(2) POT SYMBOL
Pot is a kitchen utensil. It is the mother’s womb, where fusion of food from different origins and tastes grows, but it is also a subsistence symbol. Boiling the pot means earning a living to live.

(3) STAR POT
Since the 17th century, the pot has been the star of the cuisine in all rich and poor Catalan houses, all year round, in cold or hot weather, which cannot be missed in days of celebration.

(4) CHATTERBOX POT
The Pot as a metaphor for communication, contains flavors and knowledge, memories and experiences, and dreams of the future. In addition of being the most universal cooking instrument, it is also a magical and a ritual recipient, which appears in tales, popular sayings and phrases in all the cultures of the world.

(5) POT PICNIC / WIFI POT / PHOTOCALL POT
The Memory Pot seeks to integrate the sculptural space into the park of the Ciutadella Park at the same time that it becomes a WiFi zone in a natural environment.

The proposal aims to revitalize the human and social aspect of the “picnic”, as well as propose a reading of the historical content through literary guidelines drawn, printed and recorded, incorporated in the furniture.

The monument will serve both to stimulate sensations and memories, as well as a photocall for visitors to the site that do not know the Catalan culture, it will also be a new Meeting Point.

(6) LINK POT
The fact that the origin of the monument is an archaeological finding, is to establish a visual, conceptual and emotional link between the Archaeological Intervention of Sant Daniel’s Gate and the Born Market, recently inaugurated to recover the historical memory of Catalonia.

The skin of the Memory Pot will look like pottery, although the inside will be made of metal. To emphasize the cracks, and the passage of time, these will be profiled with LED lamps, and for the rest of the elements, such as the table or benches, the pottery will be the main protagonist.

The urn / reliquary, is the continent to present the Pot extracted from the Born Museum, and it will be this urn / reliquary, the one who presides the inner space.

The project does not attempt to suggest a sentimental narration, nor be a symbol of the future. It rather is a poetic abstraction as a proposal for a space for participation, dialogue and coexistence.
