Urban Plan in El Vendrell
The plan sets out a new neighbourhood in the outskirts of Tarragona, using the crossings of the national highway to organise the exits and arrival to this new settlement. The arrangement is set through a series of changes of scales in the buildings, and in the programme types.
The commercial and main amenities are located near to the arrival to the neighbourhood, beyond which housing blocks follow the main roads of the town. These blocks surround central open spaces with sports and playground facilities for the neighbours, providing a change of hierarchy in the sequence of urban spaces.
The settlement is completed with a series of houses, which work as an edge of the urbanization, planned in relation to a nearby forest. These houses propose a different typology than that of the blocks, and have a dialogue with the open parks of the area.
