Sala Beckett: Exhibition Mies van der Rohe Pavilion / Departament de Projectes ETSAB
‘La vida quotidiana explicada a través de l’arquitectura. Barcelona, 2000-2020’
29th February – 3rd March 2024
The Sala Beckett Drama Centre is included in an exhibition at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion that offers a critical perspective on the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona’s construction and its impact on daily life in the first two decades of this century. The exhibition showcases works by professors from the Projects Department at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – UPC.
The design of the exhibition proposed a long table crossing diagonally the Mies Pavilion, displaying a series of postcards of the selected projects – two postcards each. Alongside this, a documentary film collecting short fragments of some of the projects was projected in one of the travertine walls of the pavilion. The two postcards presented by the Flores & Prats contribution were a hand drawing of the vestibule and the skylight at first floor, drawn by Inès Martinel, and a photograph of this same space by Adrià Goula.
